I would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy 2003!
Koen
I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas (and a happy New Year).
Also, a correction to the last news post: The Generals release date is 11th February 2003, and not the date stated below.
Some people have made comments on the status of a TibEd 2 project. The reason that I have some reservations about TibEd 2 is that I've just started working on it. It will take months before it becomes functional (hopefully in time for Generals?). Because the project is in such early stages, I can't say if and when it will be finished, but I'll post updates here.

It has been a while since the last news post, my computer is operating normally again (finally!). In the meantime, a release date for the next Command & Conquer game has been announced... 24 February 2003.
With this new game coming up soon, and the rumors that it is going to have very different file formats, the design process for TibEd 2 has been started. I'm not giving any guarantees whether this project will ever be released, since it is a huge undertaking and I have limited time. A new version of the TibEd 1.x series will be released in a few weeks.
Please note that I do not have anything which can edit Generals, I did not get into the Multiplayer beta test and do not have access to game files. So don't ask for an editor until the game is released!

My new hard disk still hasn't arrived, and I'm away on vacation until the 22nd of July, so I will be unable to answer e-mails until then (you can use the forum instead). However, because of the hard disk problem, I haven't answered e-mail of the last 2 weeks yet (I can't access them). So please be patient as I am unable to answer them. I will try to answer all e-mail when I return from my vacation, but it's wise to resend your question(s) as some messages may be lost, since they were on the broken hard disk.
Thanks for your understanding!
Koen
You're probably wondering why there haven't been many updates lately. That has a great deal to do with the time it takes for a new hard disk and RAID controller to arrive. That's because our development PC is currently suffering from hard disk problems. Don't worry - we have a lot of backups, and the drive isn't broken yet, but it gives out strange noises, which doesn't sound healthy at all.
Please understand that since we are unable to work on TibEd, the next version (or add-on, really) for Red Alert 2 (with AI.ini editing) will be delayed.

On the bottom left side of your screen you will see a new poll about whether to add a specific feature to add to TibEd.
I have fixed several problems with the website which were occuring during the last few days.
Happy editing!

The latest version of TibEd is now available. It includes a lot of small updates, bugfixes and additions, which should make TibEd easier to use. Especially the Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge editors have been improved, if you're using them then it is recommended that you upgrade!
What's new:
- Unit Add dialog now sorts the list of units alphabetically
- Yuri's Revenge editor updated: General and AudioVisual sections are now supported and more building names have been added
- Dropdown (multi)select lists have been enhanced and won't cause instability anymore
- All Red Alert 2 editors can now edit the Image key for Art.ini entries
- Red Alert 2 String Editor (CSF Editor) no longer allows adding of double names
- Graphics problems under Windows XP resolved (in Add dialog)
- Repaired texture for Edit button
Renegade Editor? Probably not...
I'm currently investigating the possiblity of a C&C: Renegade editor, however what I have seen thus far does not look very good. Asking me for a Renegade editor is not going to help, because I'm afraid it's going to be almost impossible to make a good editor - or to make an editor at all! News regarding a Renegade editor will be posted here on this page.
Enjoy the new version!

As promised a few days ago: a small patch which updates TibEd v1.50, v1.51 and v1.52 to the latest v1.53.
Click here to download the patch from v1.5x -> v1.53
Other news: Due to lack of time, I failed to answer e-mail in January. If you mailed me, and didn't get a reply, then please look in the FAQ first to see if your question is answered there. If it's not in there, you can post your question on the forum or you can mail me again. I'll try to reply this time, but I hope that using the forum will decrease the number of e-mails I get every day.

Today is DunesDay at FED2k. Because of that event, a new dune-ish release of TibEd is now available (don't worry, you can still edit all other games too).
The Emperor editor has gotten a huge update and some map issues with C&C games have been resolved. Complete list of what's new:
- Emperor editor updated:
- Full building editing
- Turret (weapons) editing
- Bullet editing
- Warhead editing
- More Art.ini editing for Red Alert 2 (Infantry Sequences can now be edited)
- Save to map-dialog issues have been resolved (TS/RA2)
- A major bug in the dropdown lists has been fixed
- Added a link to the support forum inside TibEd
- Updated installer
A patch from v1.5x to v1.53 will be made available in a few days. In the meantime, enjoy!

Coming Saturday, February 2nd, it's DunesDay!
Our affiliate FED2k will be hosting numerous special events. Look on their news page to see an up to date list. Amongst the items you'll see that a new version of TibEd will be released on DunesDay too - with some big updates to the Emperor editor!
If you'll excuse me now... I have to get that new version ready before Saturday.

There haven't been any updates recently to the website, as things have been really busy. I've just answered all outstanding posts on the forum, still need to answer tons of e-mail though. So if your mail question didn't get answered, try to post it on the forum, so more people can benefit.
I've added a new poll, it's about the forum. The question is "Do you like the current forum?". Look at the left side of your screen and scroll down to vote!
I will try to post updates more frequently from now on (by request ;).
